How to Brew
the Perfect Cup
Brewing OYL properly matters. One cup per day is the minimum. Consistency is the key.

Brewing Ground
Place your V60 on top of your favourite mug. Take the filter paper, notice the ridge along the edge, turn it down. Open the filter paper and place it into the V60. This ensures a smooth, even extraction.
Heat your kettle to 94°C, just off the boil. Rinse the filter paper with hot water. This removes any paper taste and preheats your mug, so you get the purest flavour from the brew.
Use the provided scoop, one level scoop is roughly 12g. Add it to the V60 and give it a gentle shake to distribute the grounds evenly. Even distribution means even extraction and a balanced cup.
Pour a small amount of water over the grounds, just enough to wet them. You'll see bubbling on the surface. That's CO2 releasing. Let it bloom for 20–30 seconds before continuing.
Pour the remaining water in a slow, circular motion until you reach about two centimetres from the top of the V60. Total brew time should sit between 90 seconds and 2.5 minutes. Let all the water filter through.
Remove the V60, pop the used grounds into your compost, and enjoy your cup. That's your daily ritual done. Same time, every day. Consistency is how the mushrooms do their work.
Filter methods only: cafetiere or French press, AeroPress, moka pot, V60, drip machine.
